JR北千住駅西口から徒歩4分ほどの"千寿(せんじゅ)"は国産鰻専門店。
場所はやさぐれた雰囲気の飲み屋横丁(マックとてんやの間)に突入！。天七・永見・かぶら屋 北千住店を通り過ぎ、シチュー屋の手前を右折。魚料理 星丸くんを通り過ぎて、大きなマンションが見えたら歯医者の角を左に曲がるとすぐ。わかりにくいようなら、駅前通りをまっすぐ行ってファミマとかつやの間を左折。突き当りを右に行って歯医者の角を左に曲がってみてね。
平日の13時頃伺うと、鉄筋コンクリート3階建ての建物の1F部分に新鮮な山椒粉のような鶯色の暖簾が出ている。こちらは平日ランチうな丼1,000円が有名。うなぎが小さくて、ご飯を隠し切れないのだが、インフレ&うなぎ高騰のご時世にはありがたい存在…。
しかし、店の前には非情にもこんな張り紙が貼ってあった。

しかし、鰻を食べる気満々だったので入る事にした。1Ｆのカウンター6席には先客2名＋1名。1名と告げると2組の間のカウンター席に案内された。この他にも座敷18席があるようだが、カウンターからは見えない。メニューを手に取ると～うな重松4,000円・特上5,000円・特選7,000円・二段重8,000円。飲み横のうなぎすぎ田もうな重は4千円からだったので、北千住では当面これ以下の鰻には出会えないと思う。ちなみに親子重1,500円は何故か～やっていないとの事。

肝吸い・お新香付き
9分ほどで提供されたうな重。時間から考えて予めウナギをさばいて蒸してあり、注文ごとに焼きあげるのだろう。硬めのご飯にアッサリ目のたれ。鰻は蒸しで脂を落としているため、ほとばしるジューシーさはない。時間がかからないのはランチ時には有難いが、鰻を食べるワクワク感もそれなりという感じ。
