Another new Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) has opened near Komae Station. "Saffron". The exterior, I think, of the outer wall. There was no particularly conspicuous sign, but there was a board and flyers displayed in front of the store. I entered the restaurant. It wasn't that big, but the atmosphere was nice. The aroma of jasmine rice filled the air, whetting my appetite. The drink menu was extensive, but the food and snacks were not that extensive. The main dish was something called "Karahi", a dish of steamed vegetables and meat fried in an iron pot. It is said to be an Afghan or Sultan dish...I don't see it often anywhere else, so I tried it. It's full of vegetables. Eggplant, cauliflower, bell peppers, etc. It's not curry, but it gives off a curry-like image. It's like a curry-like meat sauce. It tastes good. At first it was just delicious, but as you eat it, it turns into delicious! It's a mysterious dish. It goes very well with jasmine rice. It's wonderful.
