I don't know why, but there aren't many Ethnic Cuisine shops around Hon-Atsugi Station, where I currently live. There aren't that many, or rather, you could say that there are almost no decent restaurants, except for Chinese Cuisine and Korean Cuisine. Therefore, for Ethnic Cuisine lovers, this town is stressful, and the greatest joy of eating is cut in half. So, on this day, I decided to go to Mai Penrai in Machida. There is a main store and a second store, and I have been to each one once. I had a better impression of the second store, so I went there and couldn't get in because I didn't have a reservation. So I went to the main store to try it out, and it was empty. Last time, it was packed and felt cramped, so I didn't feel like staying long, but in the daytime, the impression was much different. Looking at the menu, I couldn't give up on Som Tam (1,080 yen). My partner came with a friend last week and ordered Pad Thai (830 yen), which was delicious. I was having a hard time deciding on another dish, but in the end I decided on the delicious crab stir-fried with curry powder (1,500 yen) that I had the first time I came here. Somtam is usually delicious. You can't eat this normally delicious taste in Hon-Atsugi... The seasoning of Pad Thai is sweet. The four seasonings that are always brought to Thai Cuisine are not on the table, so I can't adjust the taste. Even so, you can continue to eat it without any problems. The amount of curry is huge. I had it at the second store the other day, and it had the same very creamy finish. This is delicious! It doesn't really feel like Thai curry. It's not spicy, and it feels like crab sauce. It's strange that they don't make it on the restaurant's signature menu. Even if I ate it with rice, there was about one serving left after I finished eating. If you're going to eat this dish as a side dish, it might be best to order rice separately and share it with about 4 people. Later, I tried it with four male friends and it was just right. Everyone is delicious! I want a store like this in Hon-Atsugi too.
