I've always felt that it's difficult to find a high-end Chinese restaurant that I like, considering how expensive it is. But one day, I was impressed by Chinese Cuisine I enjoyed in an oriental atmosphere at Minami-en in Shinjuku Keio Plaza Hotel! There is also Minami-en in Keio Plaza Hotel Tama in my hometown, Tama Center, which isn't bad either, so I made a reservation. Going to a hotel for dinner is quite an event for an ordinary person. I went there in a buoyant mood. I calmed my excitement with some warm jasmine tea and waited for the food. ■Three-item assortment appetizer (small or smaller) 2000 yen ■Brewed shark fin (one piece) 7500 yen ■Shrimp rice paper roll (2 pieces) 460 yen ■Steamed shrimp Gyoza / Dumpling (2 pieces) 460 yen ■Stir-fried scallops with vegetables S 1700 yen ■Flower roll unknown ■Large shrimp with chili sauce S 1800 yen ■White fish with sweet and sour sauce S 1500 yen ■Stir-fried shredded beef, bamboo shoots and green peppers S 1600 yen ■Gomoku fried rice noodles (salty) 1800 yen ■ Bubble tea coconut milk with red beans 700 yen For appetizers, we had thick jellyfish, moist cold chicken, and juicy red roast pork. All were excellent and high-quality, as expected from high-end Chinese cuisine. The thick shark fin was a dish that you can enjoy the texture of, and the staff served it to you. The refreshing sauce was also excellent. The two Dim sum dishes were freshly made and piping hot. The rice paper rolls had a nice texture, crisp on the outside and bouncy inside, and contained shrimp festival Senbei (rice crackers). The fragrant chili sauce was not too spicy or sour, and was not overly assertive, which left a good impression. Why are Chinese shrimp so delicious? The sauce for each dish was delicious, so I scooped it all up with Hanamaki. The chili sauce went well with it. For the final dish, I had lightly salted rice noodles mixed with plump Seafood. It was a strange feeling that I could eat it even though I was full. It was a very satisfying hotel dinner with ice-cold Bubble tea coconut milk. It was lightly prepared with less oil and a light flavor of the ingredients. I was able to finish this without feeling heavy, and of course, I left Kyoto Plaza very satisfied with this shocking dinner, which may be a little different from the Chinese food in the city...
