寿司屋さんではありますが、若旦那の小料理も相当のものです。とうもろこしやカシューナッツのお豆腐なんかは、女性には特にオススメ。酒飲みとしては、アナゴの骨をカラッと揚げた品などもお酒が進みます。かの有名な某料亭で修行を積んだというだけあり、手を抜かない丁寧な仕事は見ものです。味だけでなく、見た目からも楽しませてくれるような料理を堪能することができます。
大将が握る寿司も申し分なく、店内の雰囲気も大衆寿司屋とは違い、威厳と高級感があります。カウンターには樹齢うん百年、ヒノキの一枚板を使っており、席に座るだけで少しリッチな気分に。料理に隙がなく、全体的に外れがないのでメニューは何でもオススメできますが、ランチのセットメニューは豪華。おそらく季節によって内容に違いはあれど、先日はランチセットで九品ほどでてきました。ランチだというのに、まるでディナーのような豪華な気分。おもわず昼間からビールを飲んでしまいました。
寿司も当然美味く、季節のネタはしっかりと確保してくれています。シンコなどは、あの小さな魚を開いて九枚ほどを一つのシャリに乗せるという、寿司屋ならではの名人芸にもあやかれました。何よりも、カウンターのガラスケースに並べられているネタの多いこと多いこと。儲かっている店でなければ、あんな仕入れの仕方はできないと思います。
小料理で使われる食材は、地元で獲れたのものが多いように思います。とうもろこしなども、近所の農家のものを使っているというお話を聞かせていただきました。
このお店は食べ物が美味しいこともそうなのですが、何よりも接客サービスが非常に気持ちいい。客としてしっかりともてなされたような満足感があります。威厳あるその佇まいらしく、サービスもまた一流。たまに閉店時間を過ぎてついつい長居をしてしまいますが、それでも嫌な顔一つせず、気持ちよく対応してくれます。普通のお店では得られないような満足感を感じられるというのが、この店に初めて訪れたときの印象です。
