前から気になっていた高尾山にある炉端焼きの店『ごん助』へ初訪問。高尾山口駅に着いた後、事前に予約をしていた店の送迎バスに乗り山の中の道を走って約10分後、店に到着。駅から店まで少し距離があるので少人数でも送迎バスが利用できるのは有難いと思った。バスから降りて古民家風の建物の店に入り受付でメニューを選択。いくつかあるコースの中から肉や魚など色々な種類が食べられるおはやしコースにした。その後、店の地図を渡され受付のある建物を出ると目の前には広大な庭とたくさんの鯉やアヒルまでいる大きな池があり、地図を見ながら庭を歩いて離れ個室の建物へ移動。なんでも6000坪の広大な敷地の中に24棟の離れ個室があるとの事。個室に入るとすぐに料理とドリンクが運ばれてきた。早速テーブルにある囲炉裏でアワビやのどぐろなど高級食材を焼いて食べた。炉端焼きの店には何度も行った事があるけど自分で焼くのは初めて。この店にはジビエの単品メニューもあり、ダチョウ刺しと鹿ロース串を追加で注文した。ダチョウ刺は初めて食べたけど、馬刺しに似た味で鹿ロース串は肉厚でビーフジャーキーに似た味で絶品だった。食事の最後にデザートが運ばれてきて、高尾山口駅まで1時間に2本ぐらい送迎バスが出ているらしく何時がよいか聞かれ帰りも駅まで送迎バスで送ってもらった。サービスも良く雰囲気も抜群の店で絶品の炉端焼きを堪能して非日常的な気分を味わう事ができた。また行きたい。
