実は、妻と初めて会って食事をしたのがここ、居酒さんでした。あの日は雪が積もる2月のことでしたが。
今日は妻の車で再訪です。正面の駐車スペースが空いていました。これはラッキー。
妻はざるそば(950円)を頼み、私は、くじら(皮)そば(冷たいの)(1400円)にします。あと、テイクアウトでうなぎ太巻きの半分(1400円)も持ち帰りで準備してもらいます。
ざるそばとくじらそば、麺は共通でしたが、ほぼそばの香りは無し。新そばの季節なんですが、ズズーッと入ってこないそばでした。温かい蕎麦なら好かったかも。汁の方は、大分辛口でした。
私の方の汁の味は、くじらの皮をたっぷりの舞茸・ネギを加えて煮て仕立てたやつに蕎麦を付けて食べる、くじら皮せいろ、の趣にしてあり、くじらの皮の脂に負けないように辛口にしてあると思っていたのですが、実際は同じ汁だったようです。
くじらの皮はコラーゲンというよりは脂の塊なだけに、脂の臭みが少し残り、それがスパイスと言えば言えますが。臭み消しとばかりに妻が残した薬味の山葵を一つまみくじらの汁の中に混ぜると、これが！劇的に美味しくなった、これよこれ！
テイクアウトのうなぎ太巻きは、家で食べました。シャリの味とうなぎの脂が丁度マッチした混ざり具合で、美味しい。一緒に食べた義父は、立て続けに二切れを口に放り込んでいるくらいです。店主は不本意でしょうが、元々の本業のお寿司は美味しかったです。
