A restaurant where you can enjoy billiards, darts, and poker, and also serves delicious homemade food.
It's a fun spot for adults with billiards and darts! But it also has a full cafe menu, so you can just come for lunch or just use the cafe! |
You can use it as a cafe even late at night (until 3am). You can also enjoy billiards, darts, and poker. It's a very cozy shop where you can just have a quick coffee by yourself and go home with your friend♪ They also serve beer, wine, cocktails, and other alcoholic drinks, so you can have a drink during the day♡ They also serve Hamburg, curry, and Sweets. Business hours 12:00-3:00 the next day Lunch 12:00-15:00 Closed No holidays (open on Sundays) Near [a:30004443, Hanayama Onsen], right near the Hanwa Expressway Wakayama Interchange. http://cafesoho.web.fc2.com/index.html [b:★・・・Visit Report・・・★・・・★・・・★・・・★ <December 2014>] One cold December night with light snow falling, I was driving alone from Wakayama to Osaka when there was a strong wind and road ice warning. I felt like having a cup of coffee to stay awake. A while ago, I was driving alone and I got super sleepy on the way home, and I felt the danger of falling asleep at the wheel, so I covered myself with a blanket and fell into a deep sleep at [a:27054394, Izumiotsu Parking Area]. (lol) It's pretty bad to get sleepy while driving alone... It's not like my life is that precious, but I can't die before my elderly parents, and if I get into an accident that I caused, it's my own fault, but I can't be a bother to others. Luckily, caffeine works really well for me to stay awake!!! I was driving along Miya Kaido, thinking that I should take a coffee break before getting on the highway. I'm not very good at browsing shops while driving. Even if I notice that there's a nice looking shop, I've already passed it and it's too late. It would be fine if the road was clear, but it's a hassle to make a U-turn on the crowded road, and I can't back up. I'm almost at the Wakayama Interchange entrance to the Hanwa Expressway, just before the Hanayama Onsen intersection. I was thinking that the hot spring here was also very nice, and just when I was waiting at a traffic light, I looked to the side and saw this shop, which looked like a cafe. I didn't really know what it was, but I thought I'd take a look♪ I parked in the shop's parking lot and looked at the sign in front of the shop, which said "billiards," "poker," and "darts." It also said "cafe." It's a shop that I don't really know, but I'll go in and see. Let's go in. o^.^o Inside the spacious shop, there were several billiard tables on the left. One group was playing. I could hear the bang of the balls being hit. In front of me were sofa and table seats. To the right was a stage? And a "darts" table. I went to the restroom later, and there was a sign for a "poker class". What an interesting shop. It was still a little early in the evening, so I was the only one there, apart from the group playing billiards! As I was standing there looking at the information board just inside the shop, the man at the shop noticed me. "I'd like to get some coffee, is that okay?" "Please, take a seat wherever you like." I sat somewhere in the fairly spacious shop. He brought me a menu with pictures and said, "We charge in advance. Once you've decided what you want, please let us know at the counter." I see... I decided to order coffee, but I took a good look at the menu. (There are menus with and without pictures.) The coffee, tea, soft drinks, and fruit drinks all looked delicious. Sweets were cheesecake and chocolate fondant. The snacks were curry, pizza, homemade Hamburg, and more. And they also had alcohol and cocktails. But how else would you get here other than by car? Do they use the "designated driver" service you often see in Wakayama? Anyway, I ordered a coffee and cheesecake set for 550 yen. Sweets set was 200 yen on top of the drink price. In the dimly lit, spacious interior, I sank into a comfortable sofa as the sound of billiards echoed around me. Ah, this is a good feeling. It's nice to be able to relax here o^.^o I guess I wouldn't be happy if it was crowded with people? But I guess I was lucky with the timing, because I felt comfortable being alone \(^o^)/ The coffee and cheesecake were just delicious. The guy at the shop was also natural, kind, and easy to talk to♡ He was happy to answer my questions about billiards, darts, poker, etc. I asked a stupid question, "Do you play poker for betting?" (lol) It's illegal to bet on it (lol) But I feel like it's not fun without the thrill. (lol) The sign in the restroom, "Poker class" is something I've never heard of before. There's something like that ♪ If you go to the counter and ask a question, they will kindly and kindly answer, but if you sit on the sofa, they will completely ignore you \(^o^)/ It was a cozy shop with an interesting concept. As I wrote earlier, the coffee and cake were just delicious. ↑ It's just plain delicious... this is surprisingly important. I have a bitter memory of coming across a coffee shop that had a nice atmosphere but was really bad. I stopped by a really stylish shop in the Yamate area of Ashiya while driving. I was a young girl at the time, so I was lured in by the nice atmosphere, but it was terrible! The coffee I made myself was much better. My friend and I quietly left the shop, grumbling, "It's terrible." But if I were raised by a tough Osaka lady, I might say, "It's terrible! You don't charge me for something like that." (lol) It makes me angry when I think about it now, but I only have a vague memory of the place and I don't know the name of the shop, so there's nothing I can do. It was more than 20 years ago, so I wonder if that really bad shop has already gone out of business? Maybe it's reformed and been reborn as a delicious shop... I hope it's the latter. The concept here is interesting, the service is comfortable, and the atmosphere is strange, but I really like it. I'll definitely stop by again. o^.^o
