Explore the area in front of the station from a capsule hotel on a solo trip to Wakayama. Since I was going to the southern coast the next day, I searched for a restaurant that focused on local chicken and Kishu Binchotan charcoal instead of Seafood, and decided on this one. It's on the second floor of a building, but when you muster up the courage to open the door, it feels like a pretty normal Izakaya (Japanese-style bar). It's really just an ordinary Izakaya (Japanese-style bar), for better or for worse. This is a restaurant where you can get freshly pulled chicken directly from the poultry farm. The highlights are Kishu duck and red chicken. Sashimi seems to be a favorite, but I ordered the half-raw menu of grilled and tataki. I ordered several pieces of Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) at the same time. Single customers are happy to be able to order one bottle at a time. It's cheap. In conclusion, the chicken itself is pretty good. In particular, I can't get enough of the roasted fat and moist texture of the seared duck. Salt and wasabi make a nice seasoning. The firmness and juicy taste of red chicken skirt steak and celery go well with shochu. We also have local sake from Wakayama. On the other hand, it's a shame that when the cooking and seasoning of Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) etc. is involved, it ends up being just like an ordinary Izakaya (Japanese-style bar). The pasteurization and salt level are not good. The texture is dry and salty. When I thought about it, there were some items that didn't have enough salt at all. The ingredients are pretty good, but the cooking is typical of Izakaya (Japanese-style bar). The correct answer is to order menu items (sashimi and tataki) where you can season the food yourself. If you cook it properly, it will be a higher-grade chicken restaurant. It's really a shame... It's Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) with excellent ingredients and average cooking and customer service. Overall, it was a decent chicken Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) with good cost performance in front of the station.
