和歌山県の龍神温泉に宿泊しました。ここはとにかく交通の便が悪い所です。
龍神温泉に接する主な道路は南北の1本のみ。北は高野山から1時間20分ほど、今回は熊野からで2時間弱かかりました。申し訳程度に路線バスもありますが、基本的に車でないと難しいと思います。
が、難点はそれくらいでしょう。
こちらの施設は龍神温泉の中でも比較的綺麗な施設です。部屋はタイプがいくつかありますが、今回は一番安いタイプで、フロントがある館から一度外通路に出た先の館で、玄関が狭かったです。ドアの開閉部分しか玄関が無いので靴を脱いでドアを閉めると、靴も外に押し出されちゃいます(笑)
まっ、これはご愛嬌で…。
龍神温泉と言えば美人の湯で知られていますが、その噂通りのトロッとしたアルカリ系の温泉でした。
湯上がり後も肌がしっとりとする感じで、泉質は文句なしだと思います。
食事は主に朝夕ともバイキングスタイルが主流のようです。
山奥の旅館のバイキングですから、正直期待はしていかなかったんですが、品数は少ないものの地元の食材を使用したり鹿肉のローストを置いてあったりとバラエティがあって食事を楽しむ事ができました。
また、デザートも手作り感があって好感がもてます。
館内もお洒落で綺麗ですし、スタッフの接客もまずまず。やはり難点は交通の便でしょう。それさえクリアできれば宿泊する価値はあります。熊野詣でや高野山の参拝の時に利用すればいいと思います。
