For lunch on Eve, we went to Shozen Mukuan, a Japanese Cuisine restaurant that specializes in ingredients from Kinan. I made a reservation about a month in advance and headed there. When making a reservation, they will listen to various requests such as requests for ingredients and the composition of the dish. A little over 10 minutes walk from Kii-Tanabe Station. It seemed like we were the only ones having lunch that day, and the restaurant was reservedヾ(o´∀`o)ノノイッ♪ So, let's order some Kinan local beer and have a good time on Eve♪(*^^)o∀*∀o (^^*)♪ The contents of the dishes are as follows↓ ◎Hassun ・Mandarin oranges pickled in ginger soy sauce ・Yuzu kettle Homemade sweet potato grated sardines and plum vinegar ・Kushimono Mysterious egg Sealed plum ・Kozanji Sushi ・Scallop ・Red turnip stuffed with dried persimmons, smoked mackerel, tuna roe with mullet roe, unexpected combination of mandarin oranges and ginger soy sauce, goes well with sake ((o(。 >ω<。)o)) For the sealing plums, plums are seasoned with shiso something wrapped. It is a traditional food that was once presented to lords. In the past, there was a rule against eating meat or fish for Kozanji Sushi, but when monks really wanted to eat it, they would mix it with rice to camouflage it and eat it. After all, the priest is also a child of man (*/▽\*) Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaai gai is stewed with grape sansho from Aridagawa Town. Red turnips stuffed with dried persimmons are inspired by the seasonal flower, the camellia. It was a wonderful eight-sun dish that made full use of Kinan's ingredients and let you feel the season♪ ◎Sashimi of Zori Shrimp Even though it has a distorted shape, it is very delicious ♥️ Boiled rare raw testicles is also a delicacy♪ Shrimp I marinated it in vinegar with miso and wasabi soy sauce to my liking (*^^*) ◎Miso-grilled Red Himeji No unnecessary labeling! Anyway, it's so delicious ♥️ A dish that will make your alcoholic taste go away (*/ω\*) Wow! ◎Rice soup soup with lotus root manju, red daikon radish, and stickeye. It was a dish that warmed both the heart and body (*´˘`*)♡ ◎ Salt-grilled red grouper It had a fluffy texture and was very delicious ( ゚д゚) Nmm! As a side dish, I added sweet potato sesame tofu and powdered lily root on top. It was written. ◎ Roasted venison Roasted venison is topped with radish bean paste and ginger. Stick broccoli for garnish♪ ◎Steamed potato buns, red radish, daikon radish, and boar meat. The accent of mustard was good (*^^*) ◎Meal I had freshly cooked rice from Niigata as a side dish with the above stew combination ♡o。.。・゚・(⦾ᗜ⦾)・゚・。. 。o♡Yum- However... I was stunned that there was no soup with the meal lol ◎ Water sweets After the meal, we had a special dish that can only be found at this restaurant: Japanese bee honey and an unknown fruit called fanesio. Fanesio is a fruit with a good balance of sweetness and sourness, and the honey is so delicious that it felt dangerous, making it a forbidden dessert (lol) The drinks I received were... ◇ Voyager Brewing IPA ◇ Saiga Magoichi Daiginjo ◇ Nishikigo Junmai Daiginjo special The sake that was paired with almost all of the sakes by the chef were all made in Wakayama ✧*。٩(ˊωˋ*)و✧*。 All of them were delicious and went well with the food♪ The explanations of the dishes were also very good. The owner explained everything in detail, was very sincere, and was very picky about the ingredients, but... When we were discussing the menu at the time of making the reservation, my partner decided to leave out Meat Dishes because he likes fish more than meat. I was supposed to have a wild vegetable dish, but at the end of the meal, I was disappointed to see that there was roasted venison and wild boar meat in the stir-fried dish. What's the point in letting the meat come out? Is this restaurant selling its menu by configuring the menu according to requests? I happen to be a race that can eat meat, so that's a good thing, but what would happen if someone was allergic to meat? If you do that, wouldn't it be better to fix the course menu instead of asking customers about their preferences and requests from the beginning? That's what I thought honestly. The food was delicious, so it was a shame that they went against their best selling point (^_^;) If they hadn't been so stingy with their requests, the ratings would have been a little higher. I don't know if it happens by chance or every time, but if requests are ignored, why not change this policy? I was worried unnecessarily. Thank you for the meal m(_beef_)m
