和歌山県串本は何度目かの訪問となった。高速を使っても随分遠いので好きな場所だがなかなか行けない。宿が市街地から離れていたので、歩いて行けるおいしい店ということで紹介してもらった。お店はわかりやすかったが店構えがちょっと高そうでどうしようかと迷ったがここまで来たので入店。先客は地元の人らしい方が３人ほど。おかみさんがどこでもどうぞと言うのでカウンターの奥に座った。丁度刺身の盛り合わせが出るところで便乗して注文した。アジ、カツオ、イカが載っていた。一番おいしく思ったのはアジだった。チーズの焼き物も人気らしくとてもおいしい。メニューは豊富である。とんかつをどろソースで食べたが辛いもの好きをおかみさんに見抜かれていたようだった。おかみさんの話だと、ここは前の経営者がいたようでその時の店づくりがちょっと高そう見えるそうだ。まあ、思ったよりも気軽な店なので一見さんでも十分満足できると思う。
