最寄りの駅は奥羽本線高擶駅だが遠い。
車が交通手段で、11時開店もすぐに満席になる。
古民家を改造した蕎麦屋で、靴を脱いで上がる。
左側に調理場、右が畳敷きに椅子席。
蕎麦はざるそばと田舎とざいごそば（更科粉を外一）があり、二色もある。
私は田舎とニシンの棒煮、山の神はざるそばとかき豆腐を注文した。
田舎は太く、エッジが立ち、水切りも良い。
切りむらや端切れは見られず、蕎麦の味は甘味が強く、風味十分だ。
薬味はねぎとわさびだ。
辛汁は甘味を抑えたもので、田舎にはよく合う。
蕎麦湯はとろっとタイプで、素晴らしく美味しい。
田舎が届くと、向かいに座っている山の神から美味しそうな蕎麦の香りがするという声がした。
蕎麦の香りが広がることは良質な蕎麦でなければ、ありえないことだ。
いくつかの産地のブレンドとのことで、まだ命名されていない試験的に栽培された玄蕎麦も含まれているとのことだ。
山の神のざるそばは北海道の奈川在来と言っていたが、昨日の別の蕎麦屋で食べた奈川在来と比べると、こちらに軍配が上がる。
しかし、風味は断然田舎だ。
天童の蕎麦の書き込みに、この店が取りあげられていたので来てみたが、素晴らしすぎるので閉口してしまった。
中尊寺の「地水庵」と同様に、巨大なスピーカーと真空管があり、ジャズのLPが驚くほどある。
かなりのマニアックな店主らしい。
更に、この店のしつらえは、今まで巡った蕎麦屋の中でも三本の指に入るほど、センスが良い。
蕎麦湯の入った鉄瓶、印判の取り皿、蕎麦をのせるくり抜きの皿、デザイナーズメイドと思われるテーブルとイスは垂涎ものだ。
