3 minutes walk from Shin-Yamaguchi Station (local line side). Next to Hotel Alpha One
From the recommended menu, which focuses on seasonal ingredients, almost all customers order Kumiage tofu and dashi-maki rolls with plenty of dashi! The menu is extremely varied, with fresh fish, Japa |
It's a 5-minute walk from Shin-Yamaguchi Station in the direction of the local train line. After Tsuwano and Hagi, I finally found this restaurant because I wanted to try Yamaguchi's Local Cuisine. While restaurants on the Sea of Japan side tend to focus on Seafood, this restaurant is characterized by a wide variety of Seafood, meat from Akiyoshidai, and local vegetables. There is a relatively wide selection of Fried food on the menu, so I ordered deep-Karaage and fugu tempura. (Apparently, it's "fuku" and not "fugu.") The yam is simply eaten with salt, but you can taste the flavor of the vegetable itself, which is quite good. The fugu tempura also brings out the sweetness of the meat and is delicious. I was impressed by the way the beef yukhoe was eaten, and the level of reproduction made me nostalgic for the time when I could eat yukhoe. The stir-fried offal was fresher than the ones I had in Tokyo, so there was no odor, and the fried chicken skin was so big (lol) that I thought they were using the skin from chicken dish themselves. After enjoying the taste, volume and value for money, the last dish we had was Kawara Soba. The special feature of this restaurant is that you can eat food cooked on a real tile. While there are restaurants that specialize in individual Seafood or meat, this restaurant stands out for its comprehensive use of Yamaguchi ingredients. Thanks to this, we were able to enjoy the taste of Yamaguchi Prefecture before heading home.
