山口県は高速道路が無料、美術館が多い、下関のふぐや雲丹など海産物が有名、湯田温泉のお湯が優しい、そして、湯田温泉は卓球の石川佳純さんの故郷。
そんな湯田温泉♨️が恋しくて、たびたびここを訪れる。温泉も楽しみだが、食も楽しみのひとつ。瓦そばや、ばりそば、などB級グルメもいいが、海鮮料理でもてなしてくれるお店も多い。くら本は、そんな欲求を十二分に満たしてくれた名店だった。
食堂という店名に騙されこれまで敬遠していたが、人伝てにこだわった料理を出す料理人がいると聞いたので予約して訪問。予約は必須らしい。ビールと共に三種の突き出しから始まり、お刺身の盛り合わせ、ベーコンと里芋のポテトサラダ、鯵の南蛮漬け、トリッパのトマト煮、トリつみれのトロロ鍋、えびと長ネギの炒め物、長州鶏のレバー炒めと、注文した品がタイミングよくテーブルに運ばれてくる。トリッパはソースが病みつきになる味でライ麦パンを追加。亭主には、ライ麦は自家製で味があるから是非そのままの味で食べてくださいと言われたが、思わく通りソースを付けて食したが正解。里芋のポテトサラダはとろみががありベーコンともベストマッチ、トロロ鍋もつみれの味を惹きだしていて一瞬に完食し、ひとつひとつの品に嬉しい驚きが続く。
こんな店が自宅か事務所のそばにあったら背徳の生活が毎日続いてしまうだろうな。
