This is a cake shop located in the south of the city of Hofu, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It was Saturday afternoon. I had driven to Hofu for some business, and since it was Christmas tonight, I decided to buy a cake on my way home, so I stopped by. Naturally, the shop was a bit crowded. I thought I would buy a small one because I wouldn't be able to finish it if I bought a whole one, but as I was looking at the display case, my eyes were glued to it. What, they have a Buche de Noel that's this small, like for one person? As you know, it's a classic Christmas specialty in Germany. My wife used to buy a regular-sized one and we ate it for two days as a family of three, but this size seems good. I chose one or two more, had them wrapped up, and took them home. After a Christmas-like dinner of chicken saute, I had some tea, and it was not too sweet, the cream was not too heavy, and I enjoyed the small cake. It's nice to have a shop like this in the neighborhood.
