Tonkatsu KATSUTEI is located just across the ARISAWA bridge in Toyama city, oddly among several rubdown buildings. It is highly regarded for its tonkatsu, or deep fried meat or seafood. The Tateyama deep-fried pork loin or pork fillet is served with rice, miso soup and cabbage salad. You can also get deep-fried shrimp, beef, chicken or even oysters. They are big cuts, even the shrimp and oysters are big-size! So every bite has a nice crunch, followed by the juiciness of the meat or seafood inside. It is recommended to flavor first with the pink Himalayan sea salt, to get the taste, before cutting the fat with the Worcestershire sauce. Deep-fried seafood is served with tartar sauce, and deep-fried beef has its own wasabi sauce. It is a very small restaurant, however, with only 7 counter seats, one 2-seater table and two 4-seater tables. We had to wait 40 minutes with just 2 couples ahead of us. So prepare for a wait. Fortunately, there's free WIFI inside, and Nakada Bookstore is nearby in case you want to wait while browsing some comics.
富山の有沢橋の近くにあります。店は小さいので、待ち時間を予想した方がいい。かつは大きいです。とんかつはサクサクで、中はジューシーでした。うちもも牛カツはちょっと歯ごたえがあります。カキフライもエビフライも大きいから、しっかりの味がしました。美味しかったです。思ったより量があるので、持ち帰りもできました。
