名鉄百貨店の銀座天一で穴子海老天丼2310円を食べた。つな八にも穴子とえびが乗った天丼があり、似たような価格なので、比較のためつな八にも行くことにした。
天丼 2530円
店の外にお昼のおすすめと書いてあったので、ランチメニューでしょう。ランチタイムは、16：00まで。
ランチタイムが終わっても一旦閉店しないという点は、店選びの点で優位だろう。
店の中は、テーブル席と奥にカウンター席がある。テーブル席の方は、壁で視界を遮られてプライベート感があり、そちらを希望した。カウンター席は、開けているし、高級感がある。カウンター内には、ネクタイに白衣という料理人が3人、4人もいるので、くつろげなさそうだった。
天ぷらの内訳は、メニューや店の外にも明示してあるので親切だった。えび2尾、穴子、いか、かきあげ、野菜2品。いかが確定しているのは良い。天ぷら専門店では、えびの数は明記してあるものの、魚は〇点、野菜は〇点としている店が多いからだ。天ぷら屋では、帆立やかきなどの貝やいか、うにも魚として扱われている。
メニューブックの冒頭には、使用している揚げ油のことが書いてあった。蒲郡にあるマンホンブランドの竹本油脂のごま油を使用しているという。
さて、この店でもたれは多くとオーダーした。それでも足りなかったので、追加を依頼した。
丼から穴子がはみ出している。野菜は、いんげんとなす。なすは、小さな円形。先端部分をななめに切った感じ。
えびは、短いものの、太くてぷりぷりした立派なものだった。もちろん、安い物なので、刺身でも食べられるようなものではないだろう。
いかは、かなり小さい。硬くて噛み切れないわけでもないが、特においしいわけでもない。
感心したのは、穴子とかきあげ。穴子は、十分な大きさがあり、肉厚。価格相応。いや、立地の良さを考えれば、良い方ではないか。
かきあげは、小えびのみ。えびに火が入り過ぎて硬く、状態はいまいちだが、えびだけのかき揚げはうれしい。
漬け物は、高菜のみ。家庭で食べているものなので、外食という非日常感はない。量も多くない。
