Sushitsuma Nagoya Hirokoji Branch in Sasajima, Nagoya. It is a fresh fish type Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) located on the basement floor of a building along Hirokoji-dori. The restaurant has a Japanese taste with a lot of white wood, but is very stylish. It has a layout that can be used for any occasion, with counter seats, table seats, and kotatsu seats for banquets. While it has the bustling atmosphere of a fish market, it also has an easygoing atmosphere where you can relax and take your time. We started with the restaurant's signature dish, "Toyohama fugu no tetsushashi" for 858 yen. Next was "Today's Shellfish Sashimi Assortment" for 2,068 yen. Then, "Shrimp and seasonal vegetables simmered in Okinawan salt" at 880 yen, "Cooked sea bream" at 2,200 yen, and so on. We ordered the "simple is best" dishes, but the fresh fugu sashimi, shellfish sashimi, and of course, the delicious sea bream were exquisite. Come to think of it, the Sushi and Tempura dishes that the customers around us ordered also looked delicious. The sake lineup is quite enjoyable, with a solid selection of local sake such as "Kunomai Daiginjo" (brewer's sake) for 858 yen and "Saku" for 858 yen. Although we didn't have it that day, we were impressed by the fact that Izakaya (Japanese-style bar), which serves fresh fish, has a small selection of wine, which is unusual for a restaurant like this. Although Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) is a large restaurant that you can easily enter, it is a very comfortable place where you can enjoy delicious sake and food in a relaxed atmosphere. It may become a real favorite among the Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) restaurants around Nagoya station.
