It is as good as the "Kurikinton" from a famous store in Gifu Prefecture.
Kurikasho Izumi is located along the loop line in Imaike, Nagoya. It is a long-established Japanese Japanese Confectionery shop founded in 1935. I had heard that their chestnut sweets, especially their original chestnut kinton roll, were popular, but when I dropped by just after 3pm, they were already sold out... That day, I tried the regular chestnut kinton for 270 yen, which was barely left. I tried it as soon as I got home, and frankly, it was absolutely delicious! The subtle sweetness of the chestnut and the moist, smooth texture were just as good as the chestnut kinton I had the other day from a famous shop in Gifu Prefecture. With that in mind, I couldn't help but be even more curious about the chestnut kinton roll, which had sold out that day (^^;

名古屋・今池の環状線沿いにある「栗菓匠 和泉」。毎年、栗の季節になると登場するこの店の名物「栗きんとん巻」270円をいただきました。なんだかんだで半年遅れのレビューになります(^^;
「栗きんとん巻」というのは、四角い棒状に整えられた栗きんとんが薄いどら焼きのような皮に包まれたこの店オリジナルの栗菓子。熊本県産の栗を使っているそうで、栗のほのかな甘みと香ばしい皮の風味がとても良い相性です。以前いただいて以来その味のファンになった「栗きんとん」の味わいはそのままに、ちょっとカジュアルなお菓子に生まれ変わったという感じですね。
夏の間は売られていないので、今度いただけるのは数カ月先。もう秋が待ち遠しくなってきました(^^)
