名古屋・今池の路地裏にある「BURGERS REPUBLIC」。一見、何の変哲もない小さなハンバーガーショップですが、実は全く侮ることのできないグルメバーガーの専門店です。
１Fのカウンター席のほかに２Fにいくつかのテーブル席がある小ぢんまりとした店内は、全体的にアメリカンな雰囲気で纏められてはいるものの、ベースとなる素朴でシンプルなインテリアはおしゃれなカフェとしても利用できそうです。
ランチメニューの「ハンバーガー」は990円ととてもリーズナブルな価格なのですが、バンズ、パティ、ソース、サイドとドリンクをそれぞれ選ぶことができるカスタマイズ性の高いハンバーガー。それも、毎朝キッチンで焼き上げる完全自家製バンズのほかに、糖質を抑えた低糖質バンズや、さらに糖質を抑えたい人のためになんとレタスをバンズ代わりにした「リーフバンズ」も選択可能です。
バンズがレタスってどうなのよ⁉と思いながらも、カロリー過多の食生活が続いていたので、試しに「リーフバンズ」を注文してみました。
パティは定番の100％オリジナルパティ、ソースは自家製タルタル、サイドはマッシュポテト、ドリンクはコーラゼロという組み合わせです。
最初は紙の袋に入れてカブりつこうとしたのですが、バンズがレタスだとカブりついても簡単には嚙み切れず、手で持って食べるのはほとんどムリ。結局、皿の上に置いてナイフ＆フォークで食べるスタイルになりました。
そのせいもあって、バンズがレタスだとハンバーガーというよりは、ハンバーグ＆サラダのような感覚。想像していたものとはずいぶん違ったものになってしまいましたが、サッパリしていて素直に美味しくいただけました。
それにしても、ランチ限定とはいえこれが千円以下でいただけるというのは超オドロキ。味も値段も健康志向も、今のところ死角が全く見当たりません(^^)
