"Curry House" opened on June 10, 2020. It is a restaurant where you can enjoy a wide variety of curries for lunch and dinner. The interior of the restaurant has a calm atmosphere with an exotic feel. |
This time I went on a curry tour. I went to the Indian and Nepalese Cuisine restaurant "Curry House". It's located in the Kurokawa area. East of Kita Ward Office. It's on the first floor of a retro building in a secluded area, just off the main street. I went there at lunchtime. The lunch menu is almost the same as that of the Miyagidi chain. I wonder if this restaurant is part of the same group? I ordered the Ladies Set (990 yen) which allows you to eat a variety of things. The menu includes: ・2 types of curry ・Chicken tikka x 2 ・Naan or rice (free refills) ・Salad ・Drink bar The curry is butter chicken and spinach chicken. I changed the naan to cheese naan for an additional 200 yen, and got a plain naan as a refill. The total payment was 1,190 yen. ◯Food/Taste...No complaints. Very satisfied. ・Spinach chicken curry Green curry with spinach paste. It wasn't made to be that mellow, and the taste was more straightforward and simple than I expected. There was quite a lot of chicken in the ingredients. Tomatoes are placed on top. Butter Chicken Curry A mild, tomato-based curry. It is thick and creamy. It was quite mild. The chicken is seasoned. This is also a lot, so it's almost chunky. Cheese Naan It is large, about 22 or 23 cm in size, and has a good amount of cheese, so it's quite filling. It's not sweet, so you eat it with the saltiness of the cheese. Plain Naan The size is about standard. It is chewy and soft, and the taste is sweet. It's a common taste, and it's delicious without fail. Chicken Tikka Chicken baked in a pot. Two pieces about the size of a ping-pong ball. The seasoning is just right, not too spicy or spicy, and the meat is soft. Salad This was probably the most surprising thing. Since I started visiting Indian Curry restaurants, I don't remember a salad with chicken tikka in the lunch set at this kind of restaurant. The vegetables are lettuce, carrots and tomatoes. The dressing is a sesame dressing that is served separately.・ Ice cream with mango sauce. As expected, I got a free refill of mini-sized naan at the end and ate it on top of the hot naan. ・Drink bar Machine type. There are several types of soft drinks, including cola and orange juice. There are various types of coffee, such as cafe latte, cappuccino, cafe mocha, cocoa, matcha latte, and strawberry latte. ◯Service...The lunch set has a large variety of curry. You can have as many refills of naan and rice as you like, and you can change the naan for a low price. The drink bar and dessert are included in the set, which is a special feature. It seems like a Family restaurant restaurant. The restaurant is run by local people. The hall staff are fluent in Japanese and are efficient. ◯Atmosphere...The exterior is a bit old-fashioned and suspicious, but the inside has been renovated and is clean. It's not very spacious, but the tables and sofa seats are wide and don't feel cramped. It's designed like Izakaya (Japanese-style bar). ◯Cost performance...I think the price is not bad for what it offers. ◯Overall...It was quite satisfying. This is an Indian Curry restaurant that never fails to impress. It's not bad value for money and seems convenient. There is another naan curry restaurant (Namaskar) right in front of Kurokawa Station, so it may be at a disadvantage in terms of location, but I hope they do their best.
