We arrived at the West Port of Himakajima Island at lunchtime and thought we would have lunch right away, but the many tourists and anglers made it difficult to enjoy a leisurely meal at the restaurants near the port. We walked a little further into the island and found this restaurant. After taking off our shoes and going upstairs, we found a tatami room and tables. In the kitchen, there was an older woman and her two daughters. We ordered a whitebait bowl. Boiled whitebait and egg yolk make a perfect combination. And the island's specialty, boiled octopus, is a must.
