A local restaurant where you can enjoy crab and seasonal fish.
Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) Matsuya, located opposite the NTT headquarters in Hirosaki City, is a popular restaurant among office workers and locals on their way home from work. You can enjoy seasona |
Matsuya is Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) located 2.5km from JR Hirosaki Station. It is about a 6-minute walk from Chuo Hirosaki Station on the Konan Railway Owani Line. It is located opposite the Honmachi Building of the NTT East Hirosaki Branch, and is popular among office workers and locals on their way home from work. They serve seasonal dishes, mainly crab and locally caught fish. The popular crab is from Hokkaido, and depending on the season, they use crab from Russia, and the owner carefully selects the most delicious crabs of the season, such as snow crab, hairy crab, and oily king crab. The recommended dish is the "selection Course" which is only food. It is reasonable at 2,200 yen for 5 dishes including crab. What's more, it is easy to order from one person without making a reservation. The all-you-can-drink course is 4,500 yen and up (for 3 or more people) for 6 dishes and 150 minutes of all-you-can-drink. There is also a tatami room with a maximum of 30 seats, which can be used for various banquets. If you make a reservation and visit around 6pm on a weekday, you will be greeted by a self-illuminating sign that says "Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) Matsuya." There was a sign near the entrance that said, "Today, we are only accepting reservations..." and I made a reservation in advance, so I'm so OP! I climbed the steep stairs to the second floor, told the waiter my reservation name and was guided to a tatami room, so I took off my shoes and sat down. The tatami room is a little strict for those with bad knees or backs, but the old-fashioned atmosphere is not bad. The staff who came to take my order said that if I wanted to eat crab, I should order the "selection Course". I decided, and when I looked at the drink menu, I saw that a medium-sized bottle of beer was 550 yen and Kikunoi Josen 2 go was 700 yen, which was cheap. If it was nearby, I would probably go there all the time. *Kami no Kawa 3,000 yen I get tired of drinking brewed alcohol, so I drink shochu. I appreciate the price, as it comes with ice and water. I was told that I could take home any leftovers. And then the miracle of Hirosaki, the okamase course, began. * selection course 2,200 yen Snow crab, hairy crab, sea squirt vinegar, mantis shrimp, tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette), yellowtail with daikon radish, sashimi (tuna, sea bream, flounder), rice The first thing that surprised me was the amount of crab meat. It wasn't a big crab, but the legs and body meat were piled up to the brim, and it was surprising that it was twice as much. Drink sake and eat crab. It's a moment of silence where words are not needed. I was reluctant to finish the crab, so I nibbled on the sea squirt, tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette), and yellowtail with daikon radish, and they brought me some thick sashimi. It was delicious with a sticky surface. They said, "There's a final dish, so please call me at the right time." After about 30 minutes of eating and drinking, I got quite drunk and my stomach was full. Well, I've been drinking since noon while watching the cherry blossoms, so that's to be expected. When I asked for a final dish, they brought me rice. To be honest, I was hoping for pickles and miso soup, but it would be too much to expect.
