On my oden tour, this time I'm in Funabashi. Chiba Prefecture is the first area where I have covered oden. The first one is Kaze no Ko. This is Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) located in a private house a little south of the downtown area of Funabashi Station. The store seems to have rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors, and the 1st floor has 6 seats around the counter. There were tables arranged around it, and it was small, as you would expect at an oden restaurant. The 2nd floor is for banquets and is probably quite spacious. Are you a regular customer that day? Several people were already at the counter, and the landlady called Mama moved away the pots that had been sitting on the counter and made a seat for me. Now, I'm looking for oden, so I'm going to order it. The price is not listed, but I'm sure it won't be expensive. I chose radish, egg, chikuwabu, and tendon. It looks like a downtown area in the Kanto region, with Chikuwabu and Suji (shark). The oden soup stock also has the taste of Kanto.
