Mabashi Station Mall is directly connected to the west exit of JR Mabashi Station. It opened on May 6, 2011, and has five stores in operation: 7-Eleven, Uotami, Matsudo Orthopedic Clinic, Matsudo City Hall Mabashi Branch, and a pharmacy. “Uomin Mabashi Nishiguchi Ekimae Branch” on the 1st floor is a chain Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) operated by [a:http://www.monteroza.co.jp/,Monterosa Co., Ltd.]. This time I visited on a Saturday around 8pm. Take off your shoes, put them in the shoe closet, and take the key. There appear to be 118 seats inside the restaurant, but they are separated by partitions, so you can't see them all. However, as I walked down the aisle, I noticed that the smell of grilled natto omelets was filling the air. Oh! This appetizer might be a natto omelet. With that in mind, I sat down. *389 yen appetizer The infamous Monte appetizer. Based on this odor level, I predicted that it would be a natto omelet, but to my surprise, it was a stew of burdock Simmered dish and did not contain any natto. Maybe the natto just ran out before me? I can smell the natto, but I can't see it. *Large bottle of classic lager 571 yen A large bottle of beer that is also described as Monte's conscience. 1 ml or less is excellent. *Edamame 322 yen I thought there might be natto hidden inside the edamame, but it was just regular edamame. I want you to feel safe. *Crispy fried edamame 322 yen I forgot to take a photo. Of course, there was no natto in it. By the time I finished eating the edamame, my nose had gotten used to the smell of natto. Why did this store smell like natto? I wonder if it will smell like natto if I visit again. I plan to visit again in search of a more immediate answer. Just Natto.
