成田山詣で寄る店としては使い勝手が良い。個室の座敷中心で、離れや広間もあり、気軽な食事から宴席まで何にでも利用できる。庭も本格的な日本庭園として設えてあり、浅い造りの池に大きな真鯉が泳いでいる。千葉の地方料亭らしい料理の構成と味わい。特段素晴らしいと言うわけではなくても、近くの成田市場から入れる鮮魚と、香取郡の名産ブランド豚、在田農場の恋する豚など、素材への拘りが老舗の雰囲気とアンバランスで面白い。昼のメニューは2種類のみ。その日、その時間に揃っている素材を使い、造り、煮物、焼き物、揚げ物など、いずれかの3種類をメインの組合せとして、白飯、味噌汁、香の物、水菓子をセットにしたお膳仕立て。素材のグレードにより、価格を松1620円と竹1404円に分けている。造りはこの時期、成田市場からの戻り鰹が素晴らしく美味しい。脂の乗り具合が最高で、コストパフォーマンスの良さに、同じ成田山でも観光客相手の店との違いを感じる。ホタテなど、鰹以外の魚介も成田市場は悪くない。焼き物のメダイの柔らかな焼き加減も、素材の良さが際立っている。さすが、世界のセレブ御用達レストランに魚介を直送する成田空港のお膝元。築地よりもニューヨークやパリに近いだけのことはある。豚肉は流行りのブランド豚。成田山からは遠くない香取神宮のある香取郡産。恋する豚と言うブランド名の善し悪しはともかくとして、柔らかい肉そのものの美味しさは、千葉県産の豚らいしい味わいの良さが滲み出ている。日本酒は山口の獺祭、岩手の南部美人など全国から人気銘柄を集めていて、成田山にあってはセンスの良さが光っている。何より価格が買い得で素晴らしい。ガラスの徳利には、180mlを超える並々とした1合が入っている。場所は成田山の裏側、空港バイパス国道408号、土屋交差点を美郷台に左折して直ぐの右側に在る。祝い事から法事まで、少人数から大人数まで、地元の宴会場として親しまれている店。成田山詣で寄るなら、観光客相手の参道の店より、色々な意味でお勧めかもしれない。
