I've always been curious about this restaurant called "Hokkai" on my way to work. The menu outside the restaurant is written according to the season and features ingredients ordered from Hokkaido. I finally had a chance to visit tonight♪ It seems to be run by the proprietress and two female staff members. Hirochin, who loves Hokkaido, was wondering what to order when he entered the restaurant and sat at a table with his subordinate. The best snack to go with draft beer is of course "sliced herring" (^o^) This was eaten with grated daikon radish. I wish there were a few more slices. I ordered the restaurant's recommended "Ika Poppo Yaki" (also known as squid guts) This is amazing!! This is the first time I've had such a big squid guts♪ It was a dish that could rival the real thing, steamed with just salt and sake without any preparation of the liver or charcoal. Since this is sake, I ordered two cups of my favorite "Kita no Katsu". Then I got a stylish bamboo sake bottle and a bamboo sake cup! I'm in the mood for Hokkaido (lol) Next, I ordered "Autumn Salmon Chanchan Yaki"! The sweet miso sauce and the tender flesh of the new salmon made for a delicious dish. I also wanted to order some grilled fish, so I asked the landlady for a recommendation, and she told me that the "Shiobuka Herring" that she had marinated was excellent, so I ordered it. As the name suggests, this herring was marinated in salt bran, so it was unhealthy salty, but the large herring had firm flesh, and I ate it with grated daikon radish and a little soy sauce, and it was excellent. It was a hidden gem where you can enjoy delicious Hokkaido cuisine that is just as good as the real thing in Hokkaido, even in Narita. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious.
