Connoisseur Ginji (Okaido 2-chome) Mr. M was returning from Tokyo to Matsuyama, so we decided to go for a drink. We met near my workplace after work on a weekday evening. Today, I invited Teacher A, who was free after work, to go with me. Since it was a drinking party that had been arranged on short notice, we didn't have any reservations for a restaurant, but we thought we could go somewhere in the city. It was raining, so I looked for a place in the arcade on Okaido that I could get into. Discover a restaurant that catches your eye with its flashy menu sign. ``Connoisseur Ginji'' seemed to have a good selection of fish, so we decided to go here. I guess it's the concept of a Showa-era Izakaya (Japanese-style bar). Inside the store, the smoking area was a large space, and the non-smoking area at the back was designed with box seats similar to Family restaurant. Looking at the menu, I guess it's mainly grilled and hotpot dishes that are cooked at the table. There were also quite a few a la carte dishes. I thought this was a mainly fish-based restaurant, but they also had quite a variety of meat-based items. I thought it was a restaurant with a well-marked menu, but when I looked into it later, I discovered that it was not an independent restaurant, but a chain restaurant that operates nationwide. It's a company that operates Shirokiya, Hahaha, Uomin, etc. Order one item right away. First of all, fried chikuwa isobe. It was quite crispy and delicious. The most popular sashimi platter. The octopus is chewy and tastes good. The salad tastes like the dressing you like. Unusually, we were treated to whales. Ajillo. It's a stylish item. Teacher A seems to like Ajillo. Shirako and mentaiko Tempura. It didn't really taste like milt... I also ordered Shirako ponzu sauce, which also had a weak Shirako taste. Mr. M, who prefers Showa era, ordered grilled squid. Rather than grilling it at the table, they had it baked in the kitchen and brought to them. Finish with Yakisoba (stir-fried noodles). This was delicious and filled with Seafood. I really enjoyed the conversation I had with Mr. M for the first time in a while. The story of Tokyo is interesting, but also scary. In that respect, I feel that Matsuyama is a peaceful and nice city. I received a lot of inspiration from this experience, so I would like to use it as energy for my work starting tomorrow.
