If you want to try Imabari's soul food, roast pork and egg rice, then come here! Daikokuya Restaurant
It all started with Ramen that was started by my grandparents at a food stall! Along with the nostalgic Ramen made with a secret recipe handed down for three generations, we also recommend Daikokuya H |
I heard that the meat rice was delicious on Tabelog, so I passed by the neighboring Mikazuki and went to this restaurant. It was past 12 o'clock, but there was only one customer and the restaurant was empty. When I entered the restaurant, there was no "Welcome" and I was told "You can get cold water by yourself on the wall to the right!! Fried chicken is ¥150 each and fried immediately!!" I was a little taken aback ( ´Д`)y━・~~ I ordered only "meat rice"❗️ I was excited to see what kind of dish it was, but they immediately started cooking and I was made to sit at the counter so I could stare at the cooking. First, I cut the pork belly slices into small pieces, coated them with Tempura flour, and poured them into a hot pot❗️ I fried onions, carrots, bamboo shoots, and bok choy in oil, then spread them with a dark sauce and chicken soup, and finally made a paste with potato starch. Meanwhile, the fried pork belly is placed directly on top of the rice in a bowl without draining the oil, and then the hot sauce is poured on top. It is served with chicken soup. It is piping hot, so I take a bite while it cools down. It is quite sweet. There is too much sauce, so the rice is soggy❗️ The pork belly is covered in oil with its fat coating, so it only tastes of oil. After a while, the potato starch is not mixed well, and the balls are separated from the oily soup, and it becomes a dish that makes you lose interest in eating. I was the only one to order food (it wasn't busy at all), so I wondered how good the quality of this dish was? The Chinese soup that came with it was delicious. I felt that ¥900 was expensive for this. On my way out, there were quite a few customers, and the owner said, "Sorry for the rush." I would have preferred a thank you (^^)
