A relaxing inn with a panoramic view of the Echizen coast. Enjoy seasonal dishes carefully prepared by our head chef.
Hatago Okeya is located right in the middle of the Echizen coast. It is a one-minute walk to the sea, and 100 steps to Isaribi Onsen and Active House Echizen. You can bathe in Okeya's natural hot spri |
I visited Ryokan in front of Echizen Coast, Fukui Prefecture, at the end of March. I had a full crab course just before the fishing ban. The price including accommodation was 40,000 yen including tax. It can't be helped because the price of crab has risen, but it is becoming an ingredient that is no longer easy to eat. First, we toast with a bottle of beer. It seems that they prepared two generous servings of crab, and I was very happy because I had not eaten snow crab (called Echizen crab here) properly this season. As an appetizer, we had "Vinegared dish crab"... which was just as delicious as usual. "Crab sashimi"... a dish unique to the area where crab is caught. ... A little watery, but still quite delicious. Next, we had almost a full serving of "grilled crab"... as we were picking out the crab meat, we ran out of words and conversation. Next, we had another bowl of "boiled crab"... we ate plenty of boiled crab meat while looking at the yellow tag attached to the crab that said "Echizen Port Koshumaru". This was also luxurious. It felt like we had eaten a year's worth of crab meat. The crab miso was also delicious. I was almost full from the crab alone. I'm grateful for the seafood. Next came the "hot pot" with crab... In addition to Echizen crab, the ingredients included Chinese cabbage, enoki mushrooms, shrimp, tofu, Maroni-chan, shiitake mushrooms, and chrysanthemum. ...Hahaha, the hot pot. The soup stock was delicious, and even though I was full, I ate quite a lot. I put rice and beaten eggs in the remaining soup stock (it was so delicious that there was almost nothing left...) and had crab porridge as the final dish. It seems that the restaurant added more soup stock to make up for the lack of it. Thank you. It was delicious. It wasn't the best crab, but I'm grateful that I was able to eat it this season, and I'll do my best for the remaining 9 months of this year.
