Following the New Year, I was also interested in Fukui and went there in the summer. Last time I went to Tsuruga, I wanted to eat Echizen crab, but this time I went to Wakasa on the Kyoto side of Fukui to eat sea bream. It was lunchtime and the large restaurant was full, but I was able to eat a large sea bream at Koshitsu! It was cheaper than eating in the city and I was very satisfied with the fatty food! The chirashi sushi made with seafood from the Sea of Japan was luxurious for the price. Wakasa is famous for mackerel, so I chose the miso stew set meal. The meat was plump and the flavor was light but well-absorbed. Wakasa is famous for wild pufferfish. The season is early spring. There are fish tanks and it's fresh. And so, it's a cheap and large restaurant that attracts locals. There are quite a few things to eat in Fukui and Wakasa.
