鰻好きの友人と伺いました。
博多駅前から2年前に移転して来たというキャナルシティ近くの店内は、まだ新しく、清潔感があります。
うな重、櫃まぶし、せいろ蒸しの中から、福岡でしかお目にかかれない、せいろ蒸しの特上を注文。
せいろ蒸し御膳は、「うなぎ蒸しサンド」というのもあって興味があったのですが、要予約だったため残念ながら注文できませんでした。
鮮やかな黄色の錦糸卵が乗せられたせいろ蒸しは、肝吸いと、木箱に恭しく収まった数種類のお漬物と共に運ばれます。
タレがまぶされたご飯は濃い茶色の見た目より薄味で、味が足りない場合は、テーブルにタレが用意されています。
ご飯の上と、ご飯の間には、1.5匹分の鰻が行儀よく収まっています。
食べ進めると、ご飯の間の鰻は火傷しそうなほど熱々です。
火傷しそうな口の中を落ち着かせるために、冷たいビールを一口。
最初「食べきれなかったら持ち帰りできますよ」と言われたほどのボリュームも、案外ペロリといただいてしまいました。
あまりに夢中で食べていたため、テーブルの上の山椒をかけるのを忘れたのは痛恨の極みです。
