会社の新年会が、まさかニパチで行われようとは思わなかった。
実は予約をしていたはずの店が取れていなかったという残念な事情によるのだが。
ニパチはニパチでいい。昨年１年間でもっとも通った居酒屋がどこか、と問われれば間違いなく３位以内に入るだろう。
しかし勤め先の久留米からわざわざ博多に呼び出されての新年会。口惜しくなるのも仕方あるまい。
そんな心を汲んでくれたのか、はたまた食の進まないまま終焉を迎えたわれわれのテーブルを見かねてか、
頼れる上司様が「もう１軒行くぞ！」と課の一同を連れてってくれたのがこの店である。
アーケードの元に雄大な垂れ幕。イカの活き造り。
透き通ったイカを食うのは何年ぶりだろうか。賑やかな店内ではあったが我々のテーブルはひたすらイカと刺身を食うばかりで
会話らしい会話もあまりなかったというか、会話があったとしてもあまり覚えていないというのが本音である。
半分は刺身で半分は天麩羅にしてもらった。唯一同席していた女性社員も年甲斐なくはしゃいでいたというのだけは覚えている。
ひとしきりイカを楽しんだ後で焼き鳥を食べながらビール。このぐらいからは会話の内容もいちいち覚えていたりする。
うまいものを食べるときに記憶をなくす自分がいる、そんなことに気づいた男のお話。
