「午後の太宰府のお客さん頼んでいいか」
昼休み後に携帯に入った大先輩からの頼みである。
無論、否と言いようもないタイミングだ。
なんとか客先をしのいだので、帰り道に二日市で寄り道することにした。
焼肉屋と寿司屋でしばし悩んだけど1人だったから寿司屋に決める。
あれ、板場に女性。笑顔の挨拶に少々緊張してしまう。
午後8時ころはすでにカウンターが埋まっていて、1人だったけどテーブル席へ。
誰か帰ったら空いた席へ移動することにしよう。
ゲソ焼きとビール、後から寿司を1人前頼んでみた。なんだか見栄をはって高いやつ。
客席担当は板場の女性のお母さんだろうか。優しそうな感じがおかみさんっぽい。
料理や鮨を作るのは幾分時間がかかるようであるが、
なんだか丁寧さのあらわれのような感じがしていいかな。ビールが旨い。
結局カウンター席が空くことはなく、最後までテーブルで食べることになった。
握りは下駄に乗って４つずつやってくる。
ふだんは口にすることのない車えびの踊り、ひらめにいさき。
テーブルからなのだがついつい板場をチラ見してしまう。
目が合いそうになるとあわてて食べ物に手を伸ばしてみたり。まったく中学生か。。。
ほわほわと甘酸っぱい寿司屋のひと時であった。 また行こう。
