This is the place to go on a night out in Kitakyushu for the first time in 10 years. Apparently this restaurant serves delicious fresh seafood caught in the Genkai Sea, located in Ashiya-machi, Onga-gun, next to Kitakyushu City. Ashiya-machi is home to the Ashiya Motorboat Racecourse, the only municipal motorboat racecourse in Fukuoka, which has a long history. We visited here with a group of eight after 7pm. There is a parking lot, and of course there is a steering wheel keeper. The bright and lively restaurant has a fish tank. We were guided to a raised seat in the back. Because it is a private room, the voices of the young people who had already finished eating at the next table echoed quite loudly, and we started out feeling quite noisy. For sashimi, we chose Hirasu (yellowtail) and Shimaaji (striped jack). They also have squid sashimi, a specialty of the Genkai region. They also have a lineup of Kyushu delicacies such as Motsu-nabe (Offal hotpot) (hot stew), chicken nanban (chicken stew), burdock tempura, and grilled Ramen. This is great. As expected, the sashimi is just too delicious. It was thick and satisfying, and fresh and crunchy. There was an all-you-can-drink option, but the beer was the third-class beer... I couldn't have that, so I ordered a single item. After a toast with draft beer, I ordered a 1.8L bottle of Akakirishima. The bottle is served in a 1.8L bottle, which is very Kyushu-like. It was a fun party with my work colleagues, whom I hadn't seen in 10 years. But the fish in Kitakyushu is delicious.
