I wasn't invited to many year-end parties last year. New Year's parties...I was invited one after another. Is it because it's 2020? I don't often write reviews about dinner parties, but the one and only one was the New Year's party in Itoshima. My first visit to Kushi to Uo Nigiwai, which is conveniently located right in front of JR Chikuzen-Maebaru Station. It's fun to come by train since it's so close. The frontage of tenant buildings is not that wide, but it is a store with a lot of depth. It's very stylish. This is a gathering of about 10 people who drink a lot. It was a 2 hour all-you-can-drink course. So, I didn't have high expectations for the meal. First up was the sashimi platter. One plate for four people. Tightly cut into 4 pieces. Be careful not to eat two pieces of the same thing. After that, in quick succession, we had Caesar salad (I ate most of it), soup-wrapped eggs (I ate most of this too), shrimp chili (I was surprised to see that it was Chinese), and fried chicken, also Chinese style? (Also mostly me) I enjoyed the food in a somewhat casual style. No complaints. Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) came out in between. Things like pork belly, sand zuri, and meatballs. In the second half, Takoyaki...and a surprise ending with pizza. I wonder if desserts are only available from a slightly higher rank? It's 2 hours, but drinks orders stop at 90 minutes. Don't drink! That's how everyone drinks. I think I had about 3 oolong teas, 1 ginger ale, and 2 colas. It was a Friday in the middle of New Year's party season, so it was very crowded. The staff also seem to be very busy. However, everyone was young and had a pleasant smile and were able to serve customers well. There was a slight delay in getting drinks for the most popular people. (Laughs) Let them think of it as something they do every day. I thought it was a restaurant for young people, but the oldest person, an old man, seemed to be having the most fun. If it's not in season or on weekends, there are counter seats, so it's a place where you can relax and enjoy your time. When it comes to Maehara at night...I usually go to West Udon...but I think it's okay to go to Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) like this once in a while. Maybe I'll come again!
