It's lunchtime, but I'm wandering around the city with no particular destination in mind. At "Murasarai" in Kuwano, a sign for 100% buckwheat noodles catches my eye. I'm not keen on the idea of having lunch Izakaya (Japanese-style bar), but I go in anyway. The entire restaurant is made up of private rooms. I'm shown to a room in the back and look over the menu. I order "Furuyama Highland Pork Fillet Katsu-don (Pork cutlet bowl)" and "100% buckwheat noodles." They are brought to me shortly after. The miso Katsu-don (Pork cutlet bowl) tastes good, but it's not very filling for the price. The fillet is thin and the aroma of the hot spring egg yolk is not that great. The nameko soup is piping hot and delicious. The 100% buckwheat noodles are super thin, just the way I like them. They're ice cold and have a nice texture. They use real wasabi, and the seasoning isn't bad either. When it comes to dried 100% buckwheat noodles, the "100% buckwheat noodles club" is the place to go in the city, but it's hard to deny that it's a bit pricey compared to that. Well, it's not that expensive if you think of it as a service charge because you can eat in a private room. I later realized that it was cheaper if I ordered a set meal or a meal. It would be nice if they were kind enough to let me know when I ordered. I paid with PayPay, but the staff was busy (bitter smile)
