Once you step through the noren curtain, you'll be in Okinawa!!
The commitment of "Okina"... Okinawa Prefecture, Naha City (33rd class of Oroku Junior High School (lol)) focuses on Okinawan home cooking that has been familiar to me since I was a child! ! The ingre |
Friday, April 13, 2018, from 10pm Eight Building, 8-20 Nagarekawa-cho, Naka-ku, Hiroshima City I stayed in Hiroshima for work. I visited this restaurant on my nightly patrol. An acquaintance from Okinawa introduced it to me as a recommended restaurant in Hiroshima. When you turn into Nakamichi from the main street, you will see the restaurant name sign on the wall of the building, "Uchinaa". As you walk down the corridor on the first floor of the building, you will soon reach the entrance. The noren curtain is purple with white letters saying "Okinawan Cuisine Uchinaa" and has a classy feel. When I opened the door, it was a Friday night and the restaurant was full and lively. There were counter seats and table seats in front of the kitchen, and a small raised seat on the floor against the wall. It was very popular with mostly salarymen. There was a stage at the back of the restaurant, and Okinawan artists were performing live. It was a truly "Uchinaa" time that didn't feel like Okinawa or Hiroshima. The counter was lined with bottles of awamori, yachimun, Ryukyu glass, and other furnishings were perfect! ! Of course, the menu also featured Ryukyu cuisine. However, this time I had already eaten at another restaurant, so I only had a few drinks. *Appetizer: Sea grapes, jimami. Served in a yachimun, blue glass vessel. The jimami has a crunchy texture and a subtle sea scent, and is chewy and rich. *Zanpa Several brands are sold by the go at the Karakara. This is the great thing about Okinawan Izakaya (Japanese-style bar). If you gulp down 500 to 600 yen a glass, it's quite expensive, but when you're filling up a bottle by yourself, it's nice to be sold by the go. The Karakara, glasses, pitcher for water, and ice bucket are all made of Ryukyu glass. It's relaxing. The owner is from Okinawa, the staff are Okinawa experts, and the live artists are also from Okinawa, so it feels like a base for Okinawan culture in Hiroshima. No matter where you go in the country, you can find a good restaurant through the Okinawa and Awamori network.
