Daily set meal (600 yen) I visited for lunch. The restaurant was calm and I sat at the counter in front of the entrance. The menu only had the daily set meal, limited to 10 meals. What's more, they were running a super-value campaign where the usual price of 800 yen was now 600 yen. Today's daily special was a lineup of fillet cutlet, Hamburg, salad, sashimi, taro root, pickles, chawanmushi, sea bream soup, mixed grain rice, and dessert. For this amount, 600 yen was excellent value for money. First, I had the sea bream soup. The generous amount of sea bream bones mixed with several kinds of vegetables and mushrooms spread the flavor of the broth. The pickles were lightly pickled cucumber and eggplant, and although they were a little limp, the fillet cutlet was moist and delicious, and Hamburg steak was overflowing with juicy meat juice and had an incredible meaty flavor. The type of sashimi is unclear, but the white fish has a strong crunch and is not just a fillet, but a slightly thick, rich salty taste, like sesame amberjack. It is quite rich, so it goes perfectly with the multigrain rice and is easy to eat. Of all the ingredients, my favorite was the taro stew. The sweet and spicy simmered taro and balls of konnyaku were exquisite. This also goes well with rice. I was surprised when I tried to finish off with a small dish of cold tofu, but it was not cold tofu, but cheese and plum jelly, which reminded me that I should not have preconceived notions.
