2023年1月下旬の平日の午後に訪問。
所要で広島に来ていた際に、まとまった時間が取れたので広島名物のスイーツ「レモンケーキ」のお店を生口島で複数個所訪問し食べ比べのために色々購入。
事前にあまり調べていなかったのだが、生口島にレモンケーキの有名店が多くありそうなのでこちらのエリアのお店をハシゴして購入することにした。

＜お店の場所はどこ？＞
お店は本州から車でいくのであればフェリー等で行く方法もあるのだが、西瀬戸内自動車道の生口島北インターからのアクセスが一番無難。
大きな通り沿いにあるお店なのでナビで目的地設定をしておけば間違うことはまずない。
生口島北インターから向かった場合は左手に黄色い大きな建物と数十台は停められそうな大きな駐車場があるのでそれが目印になる。
＜混雑状況・店内の様子は？＞
この日は平日の14時すぎという時間帯であったので、店内には先客無し。
また、我々が買い物をしている間に新たな来店客もなく、レモンケーキだけではなくレモンを使ったお菓子やドリンク類が陳列された広い店内は貸し切り状態であった。
店内にはイートインスペースとして利用できる丸テーブルが数セット用意されているので、出来立てのレモンケーキなどをそのスペースで頂く事が出来る。
＜オススメのメニューは？＞
レモンにまつわる様々なお菓子や商品が陳列されているが、やはりここはシンプルに「レモンケーキ」を購入したいところ。
とは言え、色々見ていると本店限定と書かれたレモンケーキが何種類かあり、今回はイートイン用の出来立てレモンケーキと味比べ用に「島ごころ 桜チェリーレモンケーキ（300円）」を購入してみることにした。
＜まとめ＞
今回購入した「島ごころ 桜チェリー」は1個300円とレモンケーキとしては若干高めなイメージ。
店舗限定販売ということで定番のレモンケーキとは異なり、小さく刻まれたさくらんぼのシロップ漬けが入っている。
そのため、チェリーの香りもかなり強いのだが、実際に食べてみるとしっとりとした生地にはしっかりとレモンの酸味と果実感が練りこまれていることもありレモン感も十分に感じられる。
そこにシロップ漬けされたさくらんぼの甘味が加わり甘酸っぱさがバランス良く加わり、純粋なレモンケーキとは異なるがこれはこれで美味しく頂ける。
今回は限定の文字に惹かれて一捻りされた限定ものを頂いたが、生地にしっかりとレモン感を感じる定番のレモンケーキもなかなかの味わいなので合わせて購入するのがオススメ。
