A Japanese-style meal within walking distance from Shindohigashi subway station. Appetizer: Konjac dressed with cod roe. The konjac was chewy. The soup oozed out like Japanese Gyoza / Dumpling, Xiaolongbao. The soup that came out was mainly cabbage and was very watery. Grilled cod roe marinated in miso. The yuzu peel and hint of miso made the cod roe beam last in your mouth for a long time, making it a great snack. Cow tongue sashimi. Can be eaten raw or grilled. The tongue is fatty and consistently delicious. Assorted tempura. The oil didn't drain well, so the top half was crisp and the bottom half Tempura soggy. Inaniwa udon with Hinai chicken soup. The broth was light and elegant. There were three types of sake to compare, which was enjoyable. The beer by the glass was a perfect classic, very delicious. This is the result of their maintenance and pouring skills. Last time, they closed and I couldn't get in (after 8:30pm). This time, they had run out of rice so I couldn't eat the rice menu (I had to wait for it to be cooked). I'm sure there are management reasons for this, but it feels like a high hurdle for visitors. It's a shame as the taste is good.
