Last lunch on a business trip to Sapporo. Since I had some free time, I decided to take a stroll around the restaurant area in the New Chitose Airport terminal building in order to enjoy Hokkaido to the fullest. I visited "Hokkaido Cuisine Yukku" which I found. Arrived at the store almost as soon as it opened. The inside of the store is quite large, but within about 10 minutes, about 80% of the seats were occupied. At the hall, a young clerk who appears to be a part-time worker is working hard, and I'm impressed by his brisk workmanship. Most of the people were eating set meals or Seafood Bowl, but since our purpose was to drink, we asked for the following. ♦︎Squid somen ♦︎Scallop making ♦︎Hairy crab making ♦︎Fried Oyster ♦︎Cod Tempura tempura A lineup of gorgeous and alcoholic side dishes that you won't believe are lunchtime. The toast is, of course, "Sapporo Classic." After all, the most delicious dish was the ``Hairy Crab Crab''. I've been to Hokkaido many times, but it's probably been a while since I've eaten a whole crab. Since it's a hairy crab, the main dish is of course the crab miso, which has plenty of it. It has a unique flavor that cannot be described with just the word rich, and the luxury of eating it as it is is unique to Hokkaido. And what exceeded my expectations was the "cod milt Tempura." Cod milt itself is often eaten at Izakaya (Japanese-style bar), but it was a bit different from that, and the rich yet clear flavor was impressive. I've heard that "freshness is the most important thing when it comes to cod," but I think that's something unique to the area where it's produced. For drinks, beer is followed by sake. There were several types of Hokkaido sake, so I tried ``Kita no Homare Junmai Namazake'' and ``Chitose Tsuru Tancho Tsuru Junmai.'' Hokkaido has an image of having a lot of dry alcohol, but the taste of both of them lived up to that expectation, and it goes without saying that they go well with local seafood. Since it was before my flight, I decided to leave the restaurant at this point so as not to drink too much. The bill was around 12,000 yen for two people. I think it's reasonably priced considering the location is an airport. Thank you for the meal!
