If you walk west of Hanshin Amagasaki along National Route 2, you will find Chinese Cuisine restaurant Kisshoro. Let's have lunch here. There is plenty of space between tables. There are many lunch menus available. There is one more main dish, but the side dish would also be the main dish at a normal Chinese Cuisine restaurant, so it is effectively a set meal with two dishes. Let's go for the Sichuan mapo tofu set meal for 870 yen. For the side dish, I chose shrimp Tempura. There are rice jars installed in the store. You are free to change your own refills. It's here. The arrangement is somehow strange. Fix. A set meal consisting of mapo tofu, shrimp tempura, egg soup, a bite of cold tofu, and rice. The surface of the mapo tofu is covered with plenty of chili oil and plenty of pepper. It's less salty. It is made with a lot of starch powder like potato starch to make it thick. There's less meat. It's mostly tofu. The seasoning is less miso-based and tastes less umami. Shrimp is a common side dish. Well, it's a little sharp. It's egg soup. There was too much chili oil on the surface of the mapo tofu, so I added a little chili oil to the egg soup. The egg soup wasn't bad either, but the seasoning didn't quite suit me. A cold tofu of this size comes with a set meal at a street corner restaurant. What is this rice? The rice is sticky but firm. It's like when you freeze rice at home and put it in a bowl without loosening it. Still, I ordered a second helping of rice. I loosened it up as much as possible with a rice scoop, so it's still better. However, I ended up ordering another drink. For now, I'm full.
