水戸に泊まることになり、地元の人の紹介で訪れた。表通りから路地に入るとレトロな飲み屋街が連なり、その奥にお目当ての店があった。店の看板もレトロに光っていて、店内もレトロ。昭和のレトロ時代は子供だったから飲み屋に行ったはずもないのに、何故か懐かしく感じるのは何故だろう。モツ煮ともつ焼きを頼み、茨城の地元の酒蔵の酒を出してもらう。壁には、吉田類の色紙がうす汚れて飾ってあったが納得感がある。せっかくだから、ホッピーも頼もう！仲間も同意して、昭和の飲み方で水戸の夜は更けた。
