This is Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) on the first floor of Hotel Terrace the Garden Mito, adjacent to Mito Station. The south side of Mito Station is elevated and crosses the rotary in front of the station, so it doesn't have much presence on the first floor. It's in a good location next to the station, but I wonder if not many people are aware of the existence of this restaurant? Well, I visited for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant has a semi-private room-like interior. It looks a little expensive, but the lunch price is in the 900 yen range, so it's not expensive. There are about four types of lunch, mainly daily specials. I had the daily wasabi set meal. It cost 935 yen. In addition to the main dish, this daily set meal comes with two Small dish dishes, rice, miso soup, pickles, and coffee. I think they're doing a good job considering the price. Today's main dish was a stewed Hamburg. This arrived in about 2 minutes. It was super fast! Hamburg in demi-glace sauce is topped with shimeji mushrooms and onions. It is also served with a raw vegetable salad. It looks delicious, but the taste is quite lacking. Hamburg steak looked like it was made by automation in a central kitchen in a factory. It wasn't tasty at all. Sorry. The two Small dish dishes were negitoro and simmered eggplant and lion peppers. None of the dishes had a homemade feel to them. I thought they were not much different from the Side Dishes section of a supermarket. However, I would like to add that for this price and this number of dishes, this store is doing a great job.
