番屋とは、
１ 番人の詰めている小屋。
２ 江戸時代、自身番のいた小屋。
３ 知床半島で、漁師が夏の漁の間に泊まりこんだり、作業をしたりする小屋。
恐らく3の意味でつけた屋号でしょう。
カウンターの上にからからに干からびた魚が吊るされています。
いけすもあって雰囲気抜群です。
連日の飲み疲れのため、アルコールフリービールを頼んでメニューを吟味します。
魚がうまいとの事前情報をもとに、刺身の盛り合わせを注文。
そして気になった三陸の牡蠣を追加。
この日はど平日ということもあり客は見渡す限り私1人、注文した料理も速攻で到着しました。
刺身全て噂に違わぬ美味さ、もっちりしてて寝かされてる感じ。
牡蠣は磯くさすぎず、クリーミーな味わい。
ついでに頼んだたらきくの天ぷら、これも美味。
しかし一つ一つの料理の価格が東京と同じレベル。
とても失礼かもしれませんが、もう少し合理的な価格設定をされた方がいいのでは…というのが率直な感想です。
雰囲気、そして間違いない料理を楽しみたい経済的に余裕がある方にぴったりなお店です。
