鹿児島港から宿のある鹿児島中央まで戻る途中、せっかく市電で鹿児島一の繁華街である天文館通をとおるので、今日は良いものを食べようかなぁ…と、さつま料理の人気店らしい熊襲亭へいきました。
手頃な値段でいろいろ食べられそうな尊コース3,500円（税別）を注文。
まず、つきだしとして、ゴーヤの和え物、もずく、むかご。むかごを食べるのは久しぶりです。郷土料理店などでしか出てきませんからね…。奥の中央は豚味噌…といったかな。ご飯に合いそう…ですがコースだとご飯は最後にならないと出てこないんですよね（苦笑）。
そして鹿児島の名物、きびなごの刺身。銀色に輝く刺身はプリッ＆トロッとしていて、淡白でクセのない味です。酢味噌をちょんとつけながら。
カツオのたたき。カツオのたたきというと高知が有名ですが、実は鹿児島港はカツオの水揚げ量が全国2位なんだそうです。黒潮に乗ってやってくるカツオが真っ先に獲れるのも鹿児島です。薬味をいろいろ変えながら楽し見ます。
さつま揚げ。名前の通り薩摩（鹿児島）から全国に広まった料理です。島津斉彬公が考案させたという説もあるそうです。揚げたて熱々のものをいただきます。
とんこつ。薩摩料理のとんこつは骨や軟骨つきの豚肉を甘辛く煮込んだ料理。味は角煮と似ています。知覧で食べたものは軟骨付きでしたが、こちらは黒豚のスペアリブだそうです。甘い味が肉によく染みて美味し。
季節のご飯とさつま汁。さつま汁は野菜・根菜がたくさん入った味噌汁のようなものです。豚汁から豚を抜いたもの（代わりに鶏肉がはいることも）といえば判りやすいでしょうか。
最後にデザート、黒糖ゼリーです。
いやーどれも美味しかった。5年前に鹿児島を訪れたときは、1泊しかしなかったこともあって鹿児島らしいものをまったく食べられませんでしたからね…ひととおり鹿児島名物を食べられて満足。
満足、と思った舌の根も乾かないうちに、やっぱり甘味がもうちょっと欲しいなぁ、と追加。ちんけ白熊550円。白熊はミルクシロップを使った鹿児島が発祥のかき氷です。『ちんけ』とは『小さい』を表す方言、つまりこれは『ミニサイズ』なのですが、そうとは思えないボリュームです。レギュラーサイズは880円のようですが、どんな分量なんだろう…。
というわけで、今度こそ満足・満腹です。
