Since I finished work early that day, I drove to Haneda to pick up my girlfriend. On the way back, I asked her what she wanted to eat, and she said she wanted to eat Japanese-style meal casually, so we decided to try a restaurant we had never been to before, and we went to Aji no Mingei. I've been going here less frequently since I had a slipped disc last year, but it's right near the chiropractor I go to regularly, so I've been interested in it for a while. After looking it up, it seems to be a restaurant that is spread throughout the suburbs of the capital region. Aoba Ward is definitely a suburban area of the capital region, so it fits the bill perfectly lol. After entering the restaurant, we ordered right away. I ordered the seasonal Kamameshi set Tabelog, and she ordered the Sukiyaki set meal. There were not many children inside the restaurant, and it was quite a nice Japanese-style meal, with an atmosphere similar to "Kassui-tei" near Kohoku JCT, which I Restaurants visit. It seems to be categorized as a family restaurant on Family restaurant, but I felt a little sorry for it to be categorized as a "Family restaurant". Soon after, the food was brought out, and it looked like a very luxurious meal, with a tray of delicious Japanese-style meal food, including rice cooked in a pot, Tempura, and soba noodles. I tried a bite of each dish, and was surprised at how high the quality of each dish was. It seems to be a chain restaurant, so they probably use a central kitchen system, or bring in some frozen ingredients and process and cook them in-store, but the recent advances in technology and quality of these things are amazing. Tempura felt a bit like a pre-made product, but the rice cooked in a pot and soba noodles were of a quality that would rival that of a real Japanese-style meal. I also tried a bit of the Sukiyaki meal that my girlfriend ordered, and it was also delicious, and I was impressed by the great quality for the price. Also, when I looked at the menu again, I saw that they had a wide variety of desserts, mainly sweets, and it said that they were perfect for tea time and snack time. We both left the restaurant thinking that we'd like to come here again (we'll come back at a later date. I'll tell you about it next time). Thank you for the meal.
