ところで、当店の看板料理は「おばんざい」です。
「おばんざい料理」とは、「京都の一般的な家庭で作られる日常的な惣菜」のことです。
漢字では「お番菜」が一般的です。
「お晩菜」「お万菜」と表現されることもあります。
お番菜の「番」は「常用、粗末な」を示します。
番茶、番傘などと、用いられています。
また、「菜」は「おかず」を示す言葉です。
